Just a few days more...

The house is almost done!   It is pretty astonishing to see all the progress that has been made in the last week.  At this point, it is easier to list the things that are left to do than listing the things that have been done.   In the next few days, they should finish pouring concrete, finish painting the exterior trim and door, put in cabinet hardware, install carpeting and fix a few things that aren't quite right now.

Jeremiah and the kids are all in Indianapolis now, and Jeremiah is sending me lots of photos of the house so I can try to keep up with the status.  It's hard to make out the colors well in photos, but I do enjoy seeing as much of the house as I can from thousands of miles away.  I am very anxious to see it in person.

Our fireplace wall is basically complete, and I'm thrilled with it.  I can already picture the piles of games and toys that will be hidden behind all those doors.

Our appliances and lighting have been installed in the kitchen.  Here's a full view of the kitchen and then some appliance close ups.  There's an open space next to the fridge where we are planning to put our wine cooler (which has been living in our garage in San Mateo).

Here's the finished window seat in the kitchen nook:

Here is the stairwell with painted trim and light fixture installed:

Here are some photos of the master bath:

And the kids' bath:

I realized today that I haven't posted photos of the exterior of the house in a few months, so I'll do that now. The front patio has been poured and the forms are in place for the sidewalk.

This is the back of the house.  The grilling porch has been poured and the forms are in place for the larger patio.

Just a few more days, and the house will be finished and I'll be on my way to Indy.  I'm missing Jeremiah and the kids very much, but many friends in San Mateo are keeping me company and keeping me well fed!
